Sevastopol traffic inspectors held a “Road Safety Hour” for schoolchildren
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In order to prevent child road traffic injuries among minors, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate held a thematic class hour on traffic rules in the children’s library with students from secondary school No. 57.
During the lessons, the police drew the children’s attention to the basic rules of safe behavior on the road and road signs, and also told them why it is necessary to turn off music headsets, not be distracted by the phone, and carefully monitor the road situation when crossing the roadway. Traffic inspectors recalled the rules for the safe use of personal mobility devices, explained the dangers of riding scooters, roller skates, and bicycles outside specially designated areas, and told them what “road traps” could await them on the road in the courtyard. Schoolchildren learned about the purpose of child car seats and restraint boosters, and also received an assignment from police officers to always remind parents to fasten their seat belts when driving a car.,” noted the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded the children that with the arrival of autumn, daylight hours become much shorter, for this reason schoolchildren often return home at dusk, so it is quite difficult for drivers to see pedestrians on the roadway or in the yard in poor visibility conditions. Traffic inspectors noted that in such cases you need to be as careful and attentive as possible when crossing the roadway, and to ensure safety you need to use reflective elements to make yourself even more visible to motorists in the dark.
The schoolchildren actively participated in the conversation with the police, answered questions and themselves talked about the rules of the road.
At the end of the event, State Traffic Inspectorate employees demonstrated educational videos to consolidate the acquired knowledge and understand the importance of following traffic rules.
