Seven paintings by People's Artist of the RSFSR Nikolai Bout restored in Crimea

In Crimea, 7 paintings by the People’s Artist of the RSFSR, Soviet painter, master of the battle and portrait genre, winner of many state prizes and awards, Nikolai Bout, from the funds of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, have been restored.
According to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the restoration was carried out during practical classes in the Kerch Art Gallery as part of the Hermitage School of Restoration program.
The seminar turned out to be in great demand for restorers, curators and researchers of the East Crimean Museum-Reserve, the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of the History of the City of Simferopol, the Alupka Palace and Park Museum-Reserve, the Research Center for the History and Archeology of Crimea, the Crimean Tatar Museum of Cultural and Historical Heritage.
During the theoretical part of the workshop, Andrey Andreev and Alexander Vinogradov, restorers of the Laboratory for the Scientific Restoration of Easel Paintings of the Department for Scientific Restoration and Conservation of the State Hermitage Museum, made presentations on the following topics: “The Laboratory for the Scientific Restoration of Easel Paintings: History, Main Activities”; «Organization of storage of easel painting in storages and restored items in the laboratory»; «The structure of paintings and types of damage»; «Preliminary laboratory studies»; «Conservation of the structure of painting: the main processes and restoration materials in the practice of the Laboratory for the Scientific Restoration of Easel Painting»; “Stages of conservation of a painting on the example of work with the painting by N. Zichel “Almeya””; «Preparation of restoration attestation documentation»— said in the Republican Ministry of Culture.
