Seven public spaces to be improved in Sevastopol this year

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol this year, seven public spaces will be improved, which were chosen by the residents themselves during the voting. Citizens actively participated in the discussions, expressed their wishes about what should be in the new squares and green areas. This was announced by Margarita Zharkova, Deputy Director of the Design Directorate of the Ministry of Construction of Russia. To date, all seven projects for the improvement of territories that won last year’s vote have been agreed and approved. Already at the end of 2023, residents and guests of the city will be able to enjoy walks in new parks and squares, including:

  • green zone near the house number 7 on the street. Stepanyan;
  • green area between house number 4 on the street. Marshal Gelovani and house number 87 on General Ostryakov Avenue;
  • square near school number 41 on the street. Gorpischenko;
  • area around the church Far;
  • Veterans Square, Inkerman;
  • park of the 100th anniversary of Kacha, p. Kacha;
  • green zone near the house number 32 on the street. Novikov.

A futuristic art object will appear in the new park near school No. 41 on Gorpischenko Street, which will become a place of attraction for young people. The public space will also please the youngest residents of the district: a small interactive zone will be equipped here, where children can actively relax and play after school. In addition, the square will be equipped with a new surface and bright lighting, comfortable benches with armrests and awnings will be installed, which will provide shade in the summer and protect from rain.

On the territory in the village of Dalniy, paving with tiles, new lighting, as well as the installation of two types of benches, including stone ones, are planned. The peculiarity of this space is that it is located within the boundaries of a cultural heritage site, so the work must be carried out with extreme caution. This and other improvement projects were agreed upon by the members of the Sevastopol Architectural and Artistic Council — the approved projects take into account all their comments.

A federal subsidy in the amount of 173 million rubles was allocated for the implementation of projects. The start of work is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023 after the conclusion of contracts with contractors.

Sevastopol residents are invited to vote this year 33 public spaces. It is planned to put in order next year 10 of them. Every resident of the city has the opportunity to make their area more comfortable by taking part in online voting. It runs from April 15 to May 31 on the portal https://92.gorodsreda.ru or by link https://pos.gosuslugi.ru/lkp/fkgs/. You can also make your choice in person — in the MFC, district administrations and on the streets of the city with the help of volunteers. It will be quite easy to recognize them — by branded clothes «Volunteers of Sevastopol» and badges with the project’s QR code.

In 2022, as part of the regional project «Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment», four public spaces were improved in the city: public gardens at 106 General Ostryakova Avenue and 32 October Revolution Avenue, as well as Fedorovskaya Street in Lyubimovka and Novikova Street, 30 in Balaklava.

Recall that the federal project «Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment» is being implemented by the Ministry of Construction of Russia as part of the national project «Housing and Urban Environment», initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of the urban environment by 1.5 times by 2030, as well as to increase the share of Russian cities with a favorable environment to 80%. The implementation of the project is accompanied by the federal autonomous institution «Project Directorate of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation».
