Seven quarantine zones for ragweed have been established in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In September, seven quarantine zones for ragweed were established in Sevastopol, all of them in the Baydar Valley.
During the quarantine phytosanitary inspection, outbreaks of the quarantine object — ragweed wormwood — were identified. Seven quarantine phytosanitary zones with a total area of 709 hectares have been established, the press service of the Azov-Black Sea interregional department of Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
Quarantine zones are located within the villages of Shirokoye, Orlinoye, Rossoshanka, Peredovoye, Novobobrovka, Tylovoye and Rodnikovoye in the Orlinsky municipal district of Sevastopol.
The growth of quarantine weed is most often associated with active repair and construction work and landscaping work in the region — repair of roads, playgrounds, construction of children’s institutions, etc. When soil is moved, ragwort seeds fall into new areas.
The Office of Rosselkhoznadzor has developed and sent to the department of municipal economy and local administration of the Orlinovsky municipal formation a program for localizing the outbreak of a quarantine object and eliminating the population of a quarantine object with the name of quarantine phytosanitary measures and the timing of implementation.
