Severe: a verdict was passed in Sevastopol in a criminal case of high treason

The Sevastopol City Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against 47-year-old Sevastopol resident Igor Kopyl. He was found guilty under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason).
The court established that the man was attracted by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to confidential cooperation. On his instructions, from January to April 2023, he filmed and transmitted information about the location of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and also provided other assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation. The criminal activities of the defendant were stopped by officers of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The state prosecution in this criminal case was supported in court by the prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol, Andrey Shevtsov. Previously, the man had already been sentenced to six years in prison for illegal acquisition, transportation and storage of explosives and explosive devices.,” noted the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
Taking into account the opinion of the public prosecutor and the punishment for the previous verdict, the court sentenced the perpetrator to 14 years of imprisonment in a maximum security correctional colony with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
