CrimeaPRESS reports:

An innovation for the 2024-2025 academic year at Sevastopol State University (SevSU) will be a new direction in the undergraduate program “Museum Studies and Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects,” said the rector of the university, Vladimir Nechaev. According to him, he notes «Sevastopol newspaper»a master’s program in this area already exists.

Initially, it is declared that graduates of this specialty will be guaranteed employment, including in the cultural and historical cluster under construction. And not only there — specialists will also be needed to work in the New Chersonesos historical and archaeological park, which will open at the end of July 2024. As the governor of Sevastopol has already stated, 1,500 vacancies will be opened in “New Chersonesos”.

It is also known that another facility will be commissioned next year — the Russian State Art Gallery, where qualified museum workers, cultural experts and art historians will also be needed.

Future specialists will be taught by employees of local museums and professional personnel moving to Sevastopol.

In total, this year SevSU has opened 1,854 budget-funded places for bachelor’s and specialty programs. Of these, 1,804 will be financed from the federal budget, and 50 (for targeted training in medical specialties) from the city budget. In addition, almost 600 budget places are open for the master’s program.

The university will also continue to accept applicants from other countries. According to the rector’s forecasts, their number will grow from year to year.
