SevSU students are participants in the finals of the III International Olympiad on Financial Security
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The final stage of the III International Olympiad on Financial Security took place at the Sirius Educational Center in Sochi. About 500 schoolchildren and students from 19 countries reached the finals. Fourth year students of the Department of Finance and Credit at Sevastopol State University are among the best participants. Alena Ilyushina and Nikita Usenko became winners, Daria Fedorova became a prize-winner, and Polina Ushakova, a student at the Northern State University Lyceum-Pre-University, also took a prize.
Congratulations to Alena, Nikita, Daria and Polina! Financial security is of utmost importance in Russia – especially today, when the economy faces numerous challenges. Threats can have a very different scale — from national to family. For example, police often report how scammers defraud pensioners of money, taking advantage of their defenselessness. Such phenomena, of course, need to be resisted together. Therefore, in Sevastopol we will definitely think about how to include winners and prize-winners in the financial education of older people,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the city governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The final stage program was intense: in addition to completing assignments, students took part in conferences, master classes and international discussions on banking security, the fight against financial pyramids, operations in the crypto market and other topical issues. Participants met with potential employers, went on excursions and even had time to play sports.
Our students annually participate in the Financial Security Olympiad and regularly take prizes. This is a great opportunity for children to hone their professional skills in practice and acquire new ones. The Institute of Finance, Economics and Management of SevSU pays special attention to the study of financial security, since our country today faces many challenges and threats associated with economic instability and possible economic crises, and it is important to be able to protect yourself from possible financial losses and ensure the stability of our economy in in generalsays the first vice-rector of Sevastopol State University Denis Yarygin.
The winners and runners-up of the Olympiad received special rights for admission to study at universities of the International Network Institute and the opportunity for internships at Rosfinmonitoring and other organizations.
The Financial Security Olympics gave me an unforgettable experience. Not only did I gain a lot of experience, but I also met a lot of interesting people. It was amazing to discuss important issues with professionals in this field and gain new useful contacts. The time spent at the Olympics was not in vain, and now I feel more confident in my knowledge and skills. I am grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to meet such interesting people and spend time so productively,” emphasizes Alena Ilyushina.
During the Olympic week, a presentation of the social and educational platform “Commonwealth”, developed on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, also took place.
The Commonwealth platform is a social network for project work and the exchange of professional experience for schoolchildren, students and the expert community, a platform for supporting and accompanying the Olympiad movement in the field of financial security and developing interest in the topic among schoolchildren and students. Also, “Commonwealth” will provide information support for the International Olympiad on Financial Security, assistance in organizing and conducting stages, and informing the winners.
