She stole… gas. In Feodosia, the court sentenced a local resident for theft of someone else's property

The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 69-year-old local resident who committed theft, that is, the secret theft of someone else’s property, from a gas pipeline.

It was established that the defendant, being the owner of a home, in the period from 10/01/2022 to 03/31/2023, having a criminal intent aimed at secretly stealing someone else’s property — natural gas belonging to the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymgazseti», without having a supply agreement natural gas with a gas supplier for all categories of consumers in the city of Feodosia by a branch of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymgazseti», in violation of the requirements of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 02/05/1998 No. 162 «On approval of the Rules for gas supply in the Russian Federation», using an unauthorized connection — additional insert metal gas pipe into the gas pipe of the central gas pipeline, connected and used gas-using equipment in the household: a floor-standing boiler, a 4-burner gas stove with oven, and a flowing gas water heaternoted the press service of the court.

The illegal actions of the defendant caused material damage to the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymgazseti» in the amount of 146,880 rubles. 22 kopecks The defendant fully admitted her guilt.

When sentencing, the court took into account information about the defendant’s personality, mitigating circumstances, and the absence of aggravating circumstances.

Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the woman to 1 year of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 1 year.
