Where do “offerings” from familiar merchants lead?
Former employees of the Simferopol administration will appear in court on charges of accepting bribes for illegal trade.
The Main Investigation Department of the RF IC for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has completed a criminal investigation against three former officials of the Department of Administrative and Technical Control of the Simferopol City Administration, accused of receiving bribes by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, including large and significant amounts (clause “a, c”, part 5, article 290, clause “a,” part 5, article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)— reported in Sledkom.
An investigator from the Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases established that during 2021-2022, the then-current officials of the Department for Suppression of Spontaneous Trade and the Department for Identification of Places of Spontaneous Trade organized a “scheme” to receive bribes from small sellers for the opportunity to conduct unauthorized trade in the territory Simferopol, as well as for their warning about possible inspection raids.
As a result of illegal actions during the specified period, department employees received bribes from sellers totaling more than 450 thousand rubles.
The criminal scheme was identified and suppressed by the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
Currently, the criminal investigation against a group of people has been completed. Sufficient evidence base has been collected,” noted the Sledkom.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea approved the indictment. The case will be considered by the Simferopol District Court.
