CrimeaPRESS reports:
On April 12, flower-laying ceremonies dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Simferopol from the fascist invaders took place at the monument to the “Partisans and Underground Workers of Crimea” and at the memorial sign of the 51st Army.
Each event was accompanied by musical accompaniment, the Anthem of the Russian Federation and the Anthem of the Republic of Crimea were played. Then those present laid flowers in memory of the thousands of Soviet people who showed heroic resistance to their enemies 80 years ago.
The first laying ceremony took place at the monument to “Partisans and underground fighters of Crimea.” The meeting took place at the memorial sign, which was opened in honor of the military and civil feat of the Crimean partisans and Simferopol underground fighters, who heroically fought against the Nazi invaders to liberate Crimea and our city during the Great Patriotic War.
During the Crimean offensive operation on April 13, 1944, soldiers of the 279th Infantry Division and the 19th Tank Corps, together with fighters of the partisan brigade and underground fighters, liberated the Crimean capital. Today we throughout the country celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Simferopol from the fascist invaders.
Then, flowers were laid at the memorial sign of the 51st Army.
The 51st Army was formed in Simferopol, from Crimeans. Four divisions were formed from the people’s militia battalions. At the place where the memorial sign is now located, there was a collection point and it was from here that the Crimean detachments went to the front.
As part of the events, the State Anthems of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Crimea were performed. Guests of the ceremony honored the memory of the liberating soldiers with a minute of silence, and also laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers at the monuments.
