Simferopol now has a virtual portal to Tavrida
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Residents and guests of the southern cities of Russia will learn about the Tavrida.ART Young Art Festival in an unusual way. They are told about the event «The Man Looking at the Sea». A reduced copy of the popular Crimean art object is located on Kievskaya Street in Simferopol. The same figures appeared in iconic places in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Sochi and Sevastopol. The Quarcode installed next to the figure has become a portal to the world of augmented reality.
The original art object «Man Looking at the Sea» rises on the territory of the art park «Tavrida.ART» in the bay near the city of Sudak in the Crimea. The 15 meter figure consists of 4500 polished metal rods. In 2019, it was created by the artist Sergey Pauker-Bravin. For five years, the Man, personifying everyone who is looking for inspiration before a new achievement, has become a real symbol of the Tavrida art cluster (a project from Rosmolodezh).
Now the «Man Looking at the Sea» has a new mission — to tell everyone about the Festival of Young Art «Tavrida.ART». The festival will be held in Crimea on August 17-21 and will combine bright shows with the participation of stars, demonstrations of the achievements of science and art, demonstrations of works by contemporary artists, designers and fashion designers, film and theater premieres on one platform.
Everyone can approach the figure, point the camera at the qar code and go into the world of augmented reality (AR), where they will travel around the site of the Tavrida art cluster in Crimea, talk about the key moments of the Festival program and an invitation to register.
Locations where the art object is installed:
- Rostov-on-Don, Levoberezhny Park, central embankment
- Krasnodar, Square in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Krasnodar Territory, embankment
- Sochi, Riviera park, rose garden
- Simferopol, square near the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions (DKP)
