On January 23-26, the XXXVI international freestyle and women’s wrestling tournament “Ivan Yarygin Cup” was held in Krasnoyarsk.
The competition, which was traditionally hosted by the Sports Palace named after two-time Olympic champion Ivan Yarygin, featured 384 athletes (245 men and 139 women) from 17 countries — Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Mongolia, Iran, South Korea, Cuba, China, Hungary, Turkey, North Macedonia, Mexico, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Medals were competed in ten weight categories – both men and womenreports Crimean Sport.
In the men’s program, the winner of the tournament in weight up to 92 kg was international master of sports Azamat Zakuev from Simferopol (coaches Arsen Zakuev, Ignat Grek and Edem Muratov).
In the women’s competition, Master of Sports of Russia Kristina Mikhneva from Sevastopol (coach Artem Khlopov) took bronze in the category up to 57 kg.
The Russian team took first place in the team competition — 65 medals (17 gold, 16 silver and 32 bronze).
