School-lyceum No. 17 in Simferopol will be named after the Great Patriotic War participant Alexander Semenovich Kuznetsov. The decision was made by deputies of the Simferopol City Council during an extraordinary session.

Natalya Matyukhina, deputy head of the education department of the city administration, made a report on the rationale for naming the school after the hero.

School-lyceum No. 17 is implementing a school development program based on the patriotic education of students. Naming the educational institution after Alexander Semenovich Kuznetsov, the defender of the Motherland, who made a significant contribution to the liberation of the Soviet Union and Poland from the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War, is caused by the need for a positive change in the socio-cultural situation.
