Since the beginning of the year, 4 incidents at water bodies have been recorded in Sevastopol, two people died
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Monitoring the activities of beach operators, patrolling the sea area, conducting explanatory work with vacationers on the Sevastopol coast and checking ship owners are the daily activities of employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels (GIMS) of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol.
The next raid took place in the waters of the Balaklava Bay. Inspectors of the territorial authority checked compliance with safety requirements, the availability of documents and equipment from the owners of small boats.
The most common violation among shipowners is the lack of a ship’s ticket. Forgotten, lost, not taken — this is what happens most often. But today we are faced with such a violation as the non-compliance of the symbol of state power — the flag of the Russian Federation — with the requirements. It is shabby, faded, more like a patchwork quilt of incomprehensible pieces — to put it simply — does not have a proper appearance. We also impose penalties for this. As for the staffing of a small size vessel with the necessary equipment, that is, life jackets, rocket launchers, oars, and so on, all this is basically there, because the owners of small size vessels are well aware of how large the fines will have to be paid if this equipment is not available.— says Sergey Barinov, senior state inspector of the Balaklava district of the GIMS.
The GIMS inspectors also checked the beaches of the coast. Painstaking work was carried out with vacationers to explain the safety rules at water bodies, information leaflets were handed over.
Since the beginning of 2023, 4 incidents have already been recorded at water bodies, 5 people have been rescued, and, unfortunately, two have died. Often, the carelessness of the vacationers themselves leads to tragedy. In explanatory conversations, employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels place special emphasis on choosing only officially established places for swimming, where help can arrive promptly, and most importantly, in a timely manner in the event of an accident.
