Since the beginning of the year, more than 2,200 Sevastopol residents have asked for help in choosing a profession

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Since the beginning of 2024, more than 2,200 residents of Sevastopol have turned to the employment service for help in choosing a profession. Of these, 57% were unemployed citizens registered with the Employment Center. After completing career guidance, 34% of the unemployed were employed, and 22%, based on testing results, were sent to vocational training.

Also, teenagers, students, graduates, people with disabilities, people of pre-retirement age, pensioners, as well as applicants who are seeking to resume work after a long break, underwent career guidance.

Specialists of the Employment Center pay special attention to Sevastopol schoolchildren. For them, starting from 2023, the “Career Guidance Landing” project is being implemented, within the framework of which the Sevastopol Employment Service organizes vocational courses at enterprises. This year, the children visited the Milana nail service salon, the R. Ratteco garden furniture factory and the Max Christmas artificial tree production company, where they studied the intricacies of a particular profession.

In addition, the employment service conducts career guidance lessons in schools and colleges in the city on various topics: “The ABCs of career guidance”, “Map of professions”, “My profession is my future”, “Know yourself”. Each vocational training session is played in a playful way and includes vocational testing, which helps young people decide on their choice of profession. Since the beginning of the year, more than 250 children have undergone in-depth testing using modern techniques during professional training.

The employment center offers Sevastopol residents a wide range of career guidance services, including information about the state of the labor market, training opportunities and additional vocational education. Career consultants apply an individual approach to each applicant, taking into account age, education, professional experience, and also diagnose aptitudes and capabilities using special test techniques.

Career guidance is attractive because it helps residents of Sevastopol identify their strengths, choose a suitable profession and start a successful career,” noted Victoria Kikot, deputy head of the active employment promotion policy department of the Employment Center.

Let us remind you that last year more than 4,000 city residents turned to the employment service for help in choosing a profession, of which 2,600 were unemployed citizens, 824 were school students.
