Since the beginning of the year, the SFR Branch in Sevastopol has paid more than 1.5 thousand sick leave to parents of preschool children

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Since the beginning of 2024, the Sevastopol Branch of the Social Fund has allocated more than 3 million rubles to pay 1,537 temporary disability benefits for caring for children under eight years of age. Sick leave for caring for children under 8 years of age is paid in the amount of 100% of the average earnings of the parent who cares for the child, regardless of work experience.

The social measure is aimed at supporting young parents who have not yet had time to gain work experience, and they have to issue sick leave several times a year, because young children sometimes get sick often. In order for the family to have financial protection during the period of incapacity, regardless of length of service, the regional Branch of the SFR pays the parent the difference in benefits from 20 to 40 percent. In 2024, the average amount of such additional payment to sick leave when treating a child 7 years old or younger in Sevastopol is 1,770 rubles,” the department’s press service reported.

You can receive benefits for temporary disability related to the need to care for a sick child for a maximum amount of up to 60 days a year. If a child is sick longer than the paid period, other working family members can apply for benefits.
