Small missile ship «Orekhovo-Zuevo» of the Black Sea Fleet passes the Bosphorus and Dardanelles

Small rocket ship (RTO) «Orekhovo-Zuevo» of the Black Sea Fleet began the passage of the Bosphorus and Dardanelles. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.
The crew of the ship is making a planned transition from Sevastopol to the Mediterranean Sea, where it will become part of the forces of the permanent grouping of the Navy (Navy) of the Russian Federation in the far sea zone. Making the transition by sea, the crew of a small missile ship will perform a set of shipborne combat exercises on tasks specific to this type of ship, the message says.
In the far sea zone, the RTO «Orekhovo-Zuevo» will replace the RTO «Vyshny Volochek», which has been performing special tasks since October 2021
According to the press service, the Orekhovo-Zuyevo RTO is a multi-purpose ship equipped with modern artillery, missile, anti-sabotage, anti-aircraft and radio weapons. It is a ship of the modernized Buyan-M series built for the Black Sea Fleet.
The ships of this project have an increased displacement and are equipped with the latest high-precision long-range missile weapons — the Kalibr-NK universal missile system, designed to destroy sea and coastal targets. The purpose of the ships of the Buyan-M project is to guard and protect the economic zone of the state.
