Snowfall in Crimea did not frighten road workers
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Snowfall in Crimea is giving way to rain again. However, the past 24 hours were not the easiest for road services. A snowstorm on the Tavrida highway, snow on the Angarsk and Grushevsky passes are only part of the tests for special equipment.
Over the past day, our road workers treated more than 1,060 km of roads with de-icing materials, and 1,482 km were cleared. The consequences of bad weather eliminated about 20 units of special equipment,” noted the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Krymavtodor”.
It is emphasized that the work is being carried out depending on “weather conditions”. So far this is a typical “Crimean winter” — minus two at night, plus four during the day.
The FKU Uprdor Taman reports: the situation on the Tavrida highway is under control.
83 units of specialized road equipment taking part in the winter maintenance of federal roads are ready to quickly enter sections of the A-291 «Tavrida» highwaythe road company said in a statement.
The day before, to eliminate the consequences of bad weather in the Belogorsk, Simferopol and Bakhchisaray regions of Crimea, 12 combined road vehicles (CRM), 7 tractors with mounted rotary equipment, 1 motor grader and 3 front loaders came out, another 6 CRMs are on operational duty and are ready to strengthen the work of specialists. To constantly monitor the situation and provide assistance to drivers, four cars of patrol engineers are patrolling sections of the highway.
Over the past 24 hours, when treating the road surface to reduce the occurrence of winter slipperiness and ensure traffic safety in winter conditions, operational service specialists used 16 tons of technical salt, 210 tons of sand-salt mixture and 21 cubic meters of saline solution,” noted the press service of the Federal State Institution “Uprdor “Taman”.
Now along the Tavrida there are seven production bases, where more than 9,000 tons of de-icing materials have been stockpiled. Employees of the operating organization, if necessary, treat the road surface of the Crimean Bridge and its approaches, ensuring uninterrupted communication between the peninsula and the Krasnodar Territory. The bridge’s automatic traffic control system guides drivers to a safe speed limit in adverse weather conditions.
