CrimeaPRESS reports:
On weekends, employees of the Yalta, Alushta and Bakhchisarai emergency rescue teams «CRIMEA-SPAS» were on duty in places of public recreation on the plateau of Mount Ai-Petri and the Angarsk Pass, ensuring the safety of winter ski lovers.
At the Angarsk Pass on January 13 and 14, 6 victims, including 3 minors, turned to rescuers for help. The consequences of active snow recreation, tubing, sledding and snow scootering included injuries to the wrist, ankle, neck, back, abdomen, and head.
Emergency department employees provided first aid to the victims, some of them were transported to an ambulance and handed over to paramedics.— reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea draws attention to the fact that snow cover remains in the mountain-forest zone of the peninsula. Rescuers remind you to monitor reports of changes in weather conditions, and if they worsen, avoid visiting the mountainous area. If you still decide to relax in the mountains, then follow the rules of safe behavior.
For lovers of winter extreme sports:
- There are more and more fans of skiing and snowboarding. Fans of such recreation should wear a helmet.
- Be sure to wear appropriate protective clothing, including goggles, knee pads, and gloves.
- Never drink alcohol before participating in extreme winter sports!
- The so-called “cheesecakes” are especially dangerous. Rescuers emphasize that they are capable of developing high speeds, while being practically uncontrollable.
- Do not attach the “cheesecakes” to each other like a train, they may turn over.
- Do not ride on slopes covered with trees. Inspect the route for holes, bumps, protruding bushes, and stones.
