“Snowy” and “slippery” road accidents in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Saturday’s heavy snowfall and icy conditions significantly complicated the situation on the roads in Sevastopol. In one day, 24 (!) road accidents were reported, two of which involved 5 victims with minor injuries, including 4 minors.
Snowfalls and drifts complicated traffic in all areas of the city. Thus, in the Leninsky district at 15:40, a 59-year-old driver of a Toyota car in the area of house No. 90 on General Ostryakov Avenue incorrectly chose a safe distance and collided with a stopped Hyundai car in front, driven by a 29-year-old driver who was moving in the same direction in your lane. As a result of the accident, two minor passengers in the Hyundai car, a 3-year-old girl and an 8-year-old girl, were injured and taken to the city hospital.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
The second serious accident occurred in the Gagarinsky district. At 18:47, the 39-year-old driver of a Skoda car in the area of house No. 9 on Stepanyan Street did not take into account the road situation, weather conditions, or the speed of the driven car, as a result of which he allowed a collision with a Toyota car standing in front, which was on curb after a previous accident. After the collision, the foreign car was thrown aside onto the 28-year-old driver, who was standing on the side of the road next to his car and holding his 2-year-old daughter in his arms. Afterwards, the Skoda car continued to move straight and collided with a Renault car. As a result of the accident, the following persons were injured and taken to the city hospital: a 28-year-old man, his 2-year-old daughter and a six-month-old son, who was in a car seat in a Toyota car at the time of the accident.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommends that car owners be especially careful on the roads if weather conditions worsen. And, if possible, refrain from traveling by personal transport. Trips outside the city should be rescheduled to a more favorable time.
