Social projects of NGOs in Sevastopol will receive more than 100 million rubles

In Sevastopol, the first stage of the competitive selection of projects of socially oriented non-profit organizations (NPOs) has been completed. Sergei Bezdolny, Director of the Domestic Policy Department, presented a report on plans for their implementation at a staff meeting chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
In order to financially support projects of socially oriented non-profit organizations in the city of Sevastopol in 2023, 44.4 million rubles are provided, of which 23.6 million rubles are from the budget of the city of Sevastopol and 20.7 million rubles are co-financed from the Presidential Grants Fund— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the official.
For the third year in a row, applications for participation in the competition were accepted electronically on the digital portal sevastopol.grants.rf. In total, 85 applications were received at the first stage, 82 projects were allowed to participate.
As a result of the competitive selection, 27 non-profit organizations of Sevastopol received subsidies totaling 32.9 million rubles, while in 2022 28 million rubles were provided to support 22 SONPOs.
More than a third of the winners of this year’s competition received state support for the first time. Currently, the Department of Internal Policy is negotiating agreements with organizations — the procedure is planned to be completed as soon as possible so that teams can start implementing projects as soon as possible.
In addition, the first competition for projects in 2023, held by the Presidential Grants Fund, has ended. A total of 28 initiatives were supported for a total of 68.2 million rubles.
As for the grant competition of the Presidential Grants Fund and the Sevastopol projects submitted for this competition, it is worth noting the project of the Spiritual and Educational Center. Holy Grand Duke Vladimir is the first experience at the regional level in the participation of the Orthodox Church in a grant competition through NGOs. The project is aimed at supporting a special military operation, helping those in need, people in the NVO zone, refugees throughout the entire Crimean Metropolis. At least 50,000 people will be covered by comprehensive humanitarian assistancesays the director of the department.
The main areas of project activity in 2023 are support for a special military operation, patriotic education of the younger generation, support for families, motherhood, childhood, development of volunteerism and charity, environmental protection and animal protection.
The Mentoring: Vector of the Future project is an example of Sevastopol SONCO’s prompt response to the federal mentoring agenda announced by the Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the project is to create additional conditions for the development and improvement of the effectiveness of the provision of assistance by mentors to minors with problems in social adaptation.
“Volunteers of the SVO. Sevastopol» is a project aimed at popularizing the volunteer movement through the organization and holding of a competition-festival. The organization of team volunteer competitions for cleaning up territories from garbage and their holding in the format of a holiday provides for another project — the Small Cup of Sevastopol Cleanliness.
The project «Become a Champion» is aimed at promoting and developing martial arts in Sevastopol — 350 students will become spectators of the «Sambo to Universities» match meetings, and 30 SAMBO coaches will take part in the seminar.
As part of the Stone Chronicle of Sevastopol project, it is planned to hold a conference and an exhibition dedicated to the 240th anniversary of the city, as well as to create curatorial groups to transfer experience to young architects and designers from more experienced experts.
Thus, the total amount of investments in social projects of non-profit organizations according to the results of the first quarter of 2023, taking into account two competitions, amounted to more than 100 million rubles. This is a record amount for all previous years.
With the participants of the competition, who failed to win in the first stage of the selection in 2023, we carried out work to identify typical errors in projects. Organizations also received feedback from the commission’s experts to prepare for the next competition.
The collection of applications for the next competition of projects of socially oriented non-profit organizations is scheduled for April 2023. The total amount of financial support will amount to 11.4 million rubles. Examination of projects will be held in May, and the results of the competition are planned to be summed up in the first half of June.
