Social support measures for participants in a special military operation are provided in accordance with the federal law “On Veterans” No. 5-FZ on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as in accordance with regional law No. 35-ZRK/2014 “On social support measures for certain categories of citizens and persons living on the territory of the Republic of Crimea.» The head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection, Diana Feratova, spoke about this in more detail.
In the field of social protection, SVO participants are provided with social support measures to pay for housing and utilities in the amount of 50%. These support measures are provided by social protection authorities at the serviceman’s place of residence.
Let me remind you that military personnel serving in places where a special military operation is being carried out have the status of a combat veteran, which is confirmed by a combat veteran’s certificate or a certificate from a military unit about the period and territory in which the serviceman is serving,” the press service of the Simferopol administration quotes Diana Feratova.
To receive benefits for housing and utilities, a family representative or the serviceman himself must contact the social security authority with a corresponding application. It indicates all the necessary information on the types of utilities, personal accounts, as well as the availability of metering devices. A copy of documents confirming the status of a military personnel is attached to the application.
To confirm benefits, you do not need to contact utility organizations; this information is transmitted automatically every month without the participation of the applicant himself.
In addition, the Republic of Crimea previously provided a one-time benefit in the amount of 200 thousand rubles for those military personnel who entered into a contract for military service or were drafted into the Armed Forces as part of mobilization. From August 1 of this year, the amount of this payment has been increased to 400 thousand rubles. This payment is provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea. Today, it is provided without an application for those citizens who have entered into a contract for military service in the period from August 1 to December 31, 2024 for a period of at least one year.
Social support measures are also provided for military personnel in other areas: education, healthcare and sports. Each department that provides social support measures or services provides discounts and benefits for military personnel. To obtain them, you must contact the institution that provides the services.
