Socially oriented non-profit organizations will receive financial support in Sevastopol

April 20 in Sevastopol starts accepting applications for the second competition of projects of socially oriented non-profit organizations. It will last until April 28, and the results of the competition will be summed up on June 9.
For the second time this year, socially oriented NGOs in the region will receive state support for the implementation of their initiatives. The winners of the first competition are already actively preparing for the launch of projects. The Government of Sevastopol allocated almost 33 million rubles for their provision. In total, 85 applications were submitted for the competition, 27 initiatives received grant support. Among them is the Mentoring: Vector of the Future project of the Heritage Personality Development Resource Center, which is aimed at helping children in difficult life situations. Within the framework of another project — “Volunteers of the Northern Military District. Sevastopol» organization «Council of the Fathers of Sevastopol» — the festival «Volunteers — Heroes of Our Time» will be held in the region, and the youth of Sevastopol will take part in environmental events thanks to the project «Small Cup of Sevastopol Purity» of the Center for the Formation of Civic Culture— reported in the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
An additional 11.4 million rubles are allocated to support new initiatives of social activists. The maximum subsidy under the second competition will be 3 million rubles.
According to Sergey Bezdolny, director of the Department of Internal Policy of Sevastopol, for non-profit organizations, participation in the competition is a prospect for developing their activities aimed at the benefit of the city and Sevastopol residents, as well as an opportunity to bring the organization to a new level of sustainability.
The grant competition is a very effective instrument of state support for socially oriented NGOs, and our task is to ensure and make the procedure for distributing funds as transparent, open and understandable as possible. Every year we observe an increase in interest in the competition. Not only the number of applications for participation is growing, but most importantly, their quality is increasing, both among experienced participants of the competition, and among those who apply for the first time— said the head of the department.
Submission of applications, as before, will be carried out through the electronic platform sevastopol.grants.rf. Projects admitted to the competition will be considered by a special commission, which will form their rating.
Socially oriented non-profit organizations whose projects will be implemented on the territory of Sevastopol can become participants in the competition. Topical areas include: support for participants in a special military operation and their families; social services for the population; promotion of healthy lifestyles; family support, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood; preservation of historical memory; environmental protection, animal protection and more.
