Something new: in Simferopol, not only scam couriers are hired online, but also arsonists

A suspect in arson has been detained in Simferopol.
A 52-year-old local resident contacted police department No. 2 “Kyiv” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol with a statement that an unidentified person damaged the front door of the apartment by arson. As part of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified and detained a 24-year-old previously convicted resident of the Simferopol region— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Pay attention to the story that the arsonist told the police. A stranger contacted him via messenger and offered to set fire to an apartment in Simferopol and provide a video to prove it. For this act, the young man was offered a cash reward in the amount of 50 thousand rubles.
The detainee brought a car tire with him and set it on fire near the front door of the applicant’s apartment, causing her damage in the amount of 100 thousand rubles. He failed to film what he did.
Instead of a monetary reward, the young man will suffer criminal punishment.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Intentional destruction or damage to property). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The suspect was given a preventive measure — house arrest. The search for the stranger’s employer continues.
