Soslan Khinchagov from Alushta took the bronze of the Russian freestyle wrestling championship-2023

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Master of sports of international class Soslan Khinchagov from Alushta (coaches — Yuri Nartikoev and Taimuraz Kokoev) became the bronze medalist of the Russian freestyle wrestling championship-2023. Competitions on June 20-24 were held in Kaspiysk (Dagestan).

Soslan Khinchagov climbed the podium in the most prestigious weight category — up to 125 kg. In the 1/16 finals, Khinchagov defeated Anzor Khizriev from St. Petersburg (6:2), but in the 1/8 finals, unfortunately, he lost to the future silver medalist of the championship Eric Dzhioev from the Krasnoyarsk Territory (2:6). But in the “consolation” our countryman had no equal: victory over the representatives of Dagestan Umar Israilov (5:0) and Saidmagomed Gairbekov (6:1), as well as success in the “small final” (battle for “bronze”) over Ostap Pasenok from the Kemerovo region (2:1)— reports «Crimean sport».

Abdulla Kurbanov from the Krasnodar Territory became the champion of Russia in this category.

In the weight category up to 74 kg, one step away from the podium (ranked fifth) was International Master of Sports Anzor Zakuev from Simferopol (coaches — Arsen Zakuev, Ignat Grek and Edem Muratov). In the fight for bronze, the Crimean won against the most experienced David Baev (KhMAO-Yugra) — 8:7, but missed the opponent’s attack and lost on the carcass.

Another Alushta resident, international master of sports Guram Chertkoev (coaches — Yuri Nartikoev and Taimuraz Kokoev) took seventh place in the category up to 92 kg.

The final places of the rest of the Crimean wrestlers (all from Simferopol): Rustam Zhilyasov (up to 57 kg) — 19th, Kantemir Kafoev (up to 65 kg) — 33rd, Jamal Margushev (up to 74 kg) — 15th, Renat Apshev (up to 79 kg) — 20th, Hadjimurat Kushkhov (up to 79 kg) — 28th, Malik Shavaev (up to 86 kg) — 11th, Marat Zanikoev (up to 92 kg) — 20th, Azamat Zakuev (up to 92 kg) — 24th.
