Sowing of open field vegetables and potatoes started in Crimea

Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alima Zaredinova announced that sowing of open ground vegetables and potatoes has started in Crimea.
According to the operational information of the district administrations of the republic, the first 30 hectares are sown in the Krasnogvardeisky and Pervomaisky districts. This year, agricultural producers plan to sow more than 4.7 thousand hectares of early vegetable crops in open ground and more than 2.6 thousand hectares of potatoes. In
year, the area under open field potatoes and melons and gourds was increased by 45 hectares compared to 2020 year and amounted to more than thousand hectares , — the press service of the acting minister quotes.

Acting Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea also focused on the fact that increasing the production of vegetables of the “borscht set” is one of the key tasks for ensuring the food security of the republic. To this end, the state provides a set of support measures aimed at both increasing production capacity and developing commodity distribution infrastructure and increasing storage capacity.
For the first time this year, state support will be allocated in the amount of about 45 million rubles for the production of vegetables and potatoes as part of the direction of agrotechnological work, compensation for sowing each hectare.
