Sowing of sugar beet seeds started in Crimea

According to the operational data of the districts, this year the agricultural enterprises of the republic plan to sow seed plants on an area of ​​more than 96 hectares, which is by 188,4% more than last year. In Russia, sugar beet is the main raw material for sugar production, and the level of production of this crop directly affects the country’s food security. The climatic conditions of the peninsula are most suitable for growing sugar beet seedlings. The crop began to be sown by enterprises in two districts: Krasnogvardeisky and Krasnoperekopsky. The first to start work was Nadezhda LLC. The plans of the agricultural enterprise are to sow a hybrid of the varieties «Tsunami», «Siyanie» and «Iceberg» on the area 75 hectares. Seeds were provided by JSC Shchelkovo Agrokhim, which specializes in their production. The sown soil is already irrigated with the help of a Russian-made circular type sprinkler. Water for irrigation is provided free of charge from the North Crimean Canal, — notes the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea.

Alime Zaredinova also noted that work is currently underway at Dneprovsky LLC in the Krasnoperekopsky district. Within a few days, they plan to sow an area of ​​​​approximately 08 hectares. This week, other Crimean enterprises will join the sowing of sugar beet seeds.

Recall that under the harvest 533 of the year it was sown 204 ha of sugar beet harvested – 188 tons. Crimean agrarians last year sowed a hybrid No. 1, No. 2, RMS-75, «Wave», «Rock», «Crocodile» and others.

In Crimea, the cultivation of seeds of this crop is carried out by enterprises of several regions of the republic: Dzhankoysky, Sovetsky, Krasnogvardeysky and Krasnoperekopsky.
