Specialists from the Crimean Blood Center introduced participants of the Safe Crimea forum to blood donation

Each participating team sequentially passed five «stations» or stages of the real donor’s journey: «Registry», «Laboratory», «Doctor», «Tasty and Healthy», «Blood Donation». The players, for example, were asked to determine which products can be consumed before donation and which cannot. At another stage, they had to distinguish between temporary and permanent medical contraindications to donation, etc.

Before the start of the business game with quest elements, the participants listened to a detailed lecture on blood donation and received answers to about 50 questions that arose in connection with this topic. The most frequently asked questions were about the safety of donor blood and replenishment of its strategic reserve. The forum participants were also concerned about the frequency of donations that is safe for the donor’s health, which groups (and Rh factors) are the most popular and most common, how to prepare for donation, etc.

All winners and participants of the business game received memorable prizes with donor symbols from the Blood Center. Adult participants of the forum expressed a desire to donate blood immediately after the end of the event.

Reference: The Youth Forum «Safe Crimea» started on the seashore in Shchyolkino on August 12, 2024. Residents of Crimea aged 14 to 35 years old take part in it. The forum is aimed at promoting rescue work and safety of people on water bodies. The events are held by the State Autonomous Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Resource Center».
