Speudsoft — a new sport in Russia, in detail about competitions

Krympress reports:

Speudsoft is one of the fastest developing directions of strikball. In it, two teams of five people fight on a special platform. Their task is extremely simple: you need to earn points, capturing the flag and knocking out the players from the other side. The team that scored more points wins.

The spudsoft reminds of paintball remotely, but in fact it is much closer to the strikbola. Players use weapons shooting with 6 mm plastic balls (the same as in Classic strikbolny). Thanks to Hop-Au, the balls fly quickly and extremely accurately.

Further — more. A speedsoft tactics are similar to the paintball. For example, subcases are used not to evade the shots (this is almost useless here), but to quickly move between shelters. Yes, and the change of stores is the same as in Straykbol — there are no “feeders” at all.

In Russia, Speudsoft gained popularity (and was born — too) in the Urals — it was there in 2020 that the first tournament was held. Now the region is still the center of the largest competitions.

Let’s talk about tournaments: SpeedSoft Russia

SpeedSoft Russia is the largest speedsoft tournament in Russia. It has been held since 2022 by the Regional Federation of Straykbol — with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Every year it becomes larger, and the level of local participants is higher.

In general, SpeedSoft Russia can be called the Russian analogue of the international SpeedqbHowever, with some differences. For example, we have strictly regulated the dimensions of the playground and obstacles are standardized: the competitions are held on the arena of about 15 × 30 meters in size (however, a deviation of up to 5 meters is allowed). The gaming floor should also be such that participants can freely make tacks between shelters.

Two teams of 3, 4 or 5 people participate in the match, depending on the tournament format. The round lasts 3 minutes. It begins with special shields located along the edges of the site — each player before starting should press the leg and weapon trunk to this shield.

The main goal is to score more points than an opponent. The capture of the flag in the center brings 25 points to the team, and for each “affected” enemy player they give another 5 points from above. Maximum — 25 — for the entire team, respectively. If you manage to convey the flag to the enemy shield, the team will receive an additional 50 points. And if at the same time the opponent has at least one “living” player — bonus 15 points.

In total, you can earn up to 110 points for the round.

As for the weapon, the drive should have a exhaust of not more than 120 ms, and the shooting is allowed only in solitary mode (one press — one shot). The mandatory requirement in this case is the tracker backlighting of the balls.

It is important to note: you can also use only mechanical stores with a capacity of up to 200 balls.

What are the tournament formats

Tournaments are held in two formats: either according to the system with removal after two defeats (aka Double Elimination), or by a circular system (aka Round Robin).

In the first case, the match consists of three rounds, and to win two of them you need to win. If the team prevails in the first two rounds, the third is not played. In the “circular” format, the match includes two rounds, and the team that gains more points in total for both rounds wins.

Each match lasts two or three rounds — again, depending on the tournament format. The round lasts exactly three minutes. Before starting, the team gives a signal of readiness, and the judge confirms the start — both verbally and visually. As soon as a whistle or a beep is heard, the round begins — there is no reverse reference. The end of the round is indicated by a double signal. Between the rounds of one match you cannot recharge.

Some nuances of the competition

The flag must be held in the hand so that the judge clearly saw it — it is prohibited to hide it in your pockets or a “dumper”. As soon as the flag was delivered to the “Republic” of the enemy, the round ends. With all this, the flag can be left anywhere in the field — or transferred to a teammate, but only carefully — you can’t throw it. If the player with the flag was struck, he must immediately leave the flag in place (a maximum of one and a half meters from the point of hit).

For a delay or too far, the team can be fined 25 points.

The starting position of the team is at the central wall, at the PROSPA point, the zone of which is 2.4 meters. Before the judge’s signal, each player should touch the walls with at least one foot, and all drives should remain against the wall.

For Falstart or violation of the start rules, the team loses 50 points.

How judges and organizers in tournaments work

Below are aspects and responsibilities of the work of judges and organizers within the framework of the ongoing tournaments:

  1. The judicial board (aka GSK) includes the chief judge, the senior judge of video replacements and the senior field judge. The first is responsible for the work of the judicial team as a whole. Its decisions are final and are not subject to review. The second analyzes controversial situations after the match using video materials provided by players, as well as broadcast records. The third analyzes conflict situations directly on the playground and imposes sanctions on the participants — if necessary.
  2. The organizers of the event have the right to exclude participants who violate the established rules or interfere with its holding.
  3. The judges control the readiness of the commands, monitor compliance with the rules, and also fix the beginning and end of each round. They also monitor the defeat of the players — if the participant did not notice the hit, the judge has the full right to declare him affected and, as a result, remove him from the field.

Which is prohibited and what is necessarily for execution in competitions

First of all, each player is obliged to wear protective glasses or a mask that completely cover his face — not only during the battle, but also on shooting sites. Finding a field without protection is strictly prohibited.

Team identification is also important: players of one team should be in the form of the same color (T -shirt or sweatshirt) so that judges can easily determine their belonging.

As for equipment, prohibitions on any modifications or configurations that give an advantage are installed here:

  • Drives that violate the standard shooting cycle. You can not accelerate the rate of fire and set a double shot.
  • Binar trigger hooks. The bracket should be standard.
  • Assault shields, pyrotechnics, lanterns, laser target designators and airsoft grenade launchers — all this is also under the strict prohibition.
  • During the match, players cannot use communication means — on An example, phones or walkie -talkies.

We draw attention to the fact that all of the above can be supplemented (and usually happens) by the organizers depending on the characteristics of the site. Their compliance is a prerequisite for participation in the tournament. The judges also reserve every right to check the equipment of players at any time to guarantee the honesty and security of the game.
