Spring has come, youngsters are stealing mopeds again. How it was in Alushta

In Alushta, a 54-year-old local resident turned to law enforcement for help. She reported the moped stolen. The victim indicated that the vehicle was in the use of her son. The young man systematically parked his moped in the entrance of an apartment building. In the evening, leaving the two-wheeler in its usual place, the applicant’s son went home, and the next day he discovered that the moped was missing. The amount of material damage amounted to 15 thousand rubles.
As a result of joint actions aimed at establishing the identity and location of the suspect, employees of the criminal investigation department and the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Alushta stopped a 17-year-old local resident who was driving a stolen vehicle in the city, and then took him to the police department to give an explanation .
The suspect admitted to the crime and told the police that at night, after making sure there were no witnesses, he secretly rolled out his friend’s vehicle from the entrance of an apartment building and started it, moving away from the crime scene. The attacker hid the stolen property for some time on one of the city streets— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The police seized the stolen moped. The 17-year-old thief was registered by employees of the juvenile affairs department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Alushta. Moreover, on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“theft”), a criminal case was initiated. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
