On June 1, children’s recreational holidays started in the Crimea, on the western coast of Crimea in the city of Evpatoria, as well as in its environs, the first shift is already underway.
Russian student groups contributed to the opening of the season in children’s camps by providing more than 200 counselors, the guys work in eight camps during the first shift of the summer recreation season. The peculiarity of some shifts in children’s camps, in which counselors of student teams work, is that they work with children with inclusion. This requires separate training of counselors. So in the children’s health camp «Zvezdny» of the Sports Center «Evolution» for the first time a health program for children in wheelchairs is held. And for the second year now, Crimean counselors have been working in the All-Russian Children’s Center «Scarlet Sails» with talented children who require a special approach in their physical and mental activities.
Throughout the year, counselors were trained, there were field briefings that helped to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the camps. Also on the basis of the Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky and Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University named after Fevzi-Yakubov held a school of counselors, where students were able to gain the necessary knowledge, and as a result of successfully passed exams, state certificates were issued.
Student leaders bring fresh ideas, creative workshops, interesting games and fun activities to the camps. They accompany children on walks, recreational activities, sports competitions, and always find time for individual communication and support for each child.
The camp is a special area where children try themselves in independent decisions, communications, apply the skills acquired in the family, in the environment surrounding most of their life: respect for people, the surrounding space, compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements and order.

This year, the team of counselors includes both experienced professionals and students who will try themselves in this role for the first time. Experienced guys pass on their experience to a new generation of counselors and together create an unforgettable experience for children.
This is my first summer as a counselor and I can’t describe in words how exciting and wonderful it is. The work of counselors in children’s camps is not an easy and responsible task, but our team copes with it at the highest level! We strive to create a supportive environment where every child feels loved and respected.
Being a counselor means being a role model, mentor and support for every child. I am ready to give all my strength to make their summer unforgettable and full of impressions. This year, according to preliminary estimates for the summer period, more than 800 Crimean counselors from student pedagogical teams will work.
