Startup studio «IT Garage» together with Northern State University is holding a student hackathon

From May 16 to 23, the IT Garage startup studio, together with Sevastopol State University, is holding a student hackathon, which will be held in the format of a team competition. The goal of the hackathon will be to immerse yourself in the world of unmanned technologies and practice skills. Participants will have to show their skills in the development and integration of computer vision algorithms and autonomous movement of a drone along a route based on detectable signs and specialized markers.

The event will be held in two stages. The first stage is an extramural one, in which participants must prepare software for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) based on a trained neural network. The prepared software must subsequently be loaded into the drone. During the head-to-head stage, the teams will hold racing competitions. Based on the results of the competition, three winning teams will be determined and will receive cash prizes. The best hackathon participants will be offered vacancies in one of the IT Park startups.

The hackathon is conducted by project experts from the IT Garage startup studio as part of the CyberRoy acceleration program of SevSU. This program is aimed at developing student technological entrepreneurship; students from all over Russia can take part in the development of the unmanned aerial systems industry in Sevastopol. The accelerator program is being implemented within the framework of the Federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”. The key industrial partner of the accelerator is IT Park.

We consider the hackathon one of the main events of the CyberRoy acceleration program. Leading project experts from the IT Garage startup studio were brought in to formulate the tasks and program of the hackathon.
