In 2024, the “portrait” of the courier has changed significantly. If earlier in 90% of cases these were men, now there are more women, students and pensioners in delivery. As for wages, on average, a courier driving a car earns from 60 to 180 thousand rubles, depending on the region. In addition, employees are often offered additional benefits and bonuses — for example, a voluntary health insurance package, compensation for fuel and lubricants, payment for lunch or bonuses from partners — comments the head of the mass recruitment department of SDEK-Global Vitalina Bacherikova.
Another trend has emerged — 2.3 times more often over the year, employers began to look for couriers to work on shifts. As a rule, these are logistics companies, large retailers or their partners, who thus attract personnel from the regions to large cities with developing e-comm. Typically, in such rotational positions, candidates are offered free accommodation, a means of transportation and compensation for travel to the city in which the couriers are going to work.
In just April 2024, employer demand for courier delivery employees increased by 20% year on year. To meet the need for personnel, companies have increasingly resorted to flexible forms of employment. Job vacancies for couriers increasingly mention the possibility of working close to home or the option of quickly employing employees,” notes the director of the “Taxi, transport and logistics” category of Avito Works Artem Egorenkov.
