Statistics: every second Russian hires a team to do repairs

According to Avito Services, a third of Russians are not ready to do cosmetic repairs and install doors themselves.
According to a survey by Avito Services, more than half of Russians (57%) are going to make repairs this year, another 21% of respondents have not yet decided. Among those who are ready to renovate the interior, there are more women than men — 59% versus 54%, respectively. Most often people between 25 and 44 years old plan renovations (62%).
Avito Services analysts found out how much Russians are willing to spend on repairs this year, what kind of work they prefer to delegate to craftsmen, and what part of the repair budget they allocate to pay for the services of professionals.
Most Russians are not ready to spend more than 100 thousand rubles on repairs
As for the budget for repairs, approximately a third of respondents (29%) are going to limit themselves to an amount of up to 50 thousand rubles. Another 30% of Russians are ready to spend from 50 to 100 thousand rubles. Every third respondent (29%) believes that repairs will cost from 100 to 500 thousand rubles. And only 7% plan to pay more than half a million rubles for repairs.
Among those who agree to pay more than 500 thousand rubles for repair work, the majority are young people aged 18 to 24 years (10%). Muscovites are willing to spend the most on repairs. 12% of the capital’s residents can afford to pay 500+ thousand rubles for an apartment renovation.
Representatives of the older generation most often try to save on repairs: 42% of people over 65 years old said that their budget for repair work is no more than 50 thousand rubles. Among those who plan to meet this amount, most of them are residents of cities with a population of up to 100 thousand people (34%).
Almost half of Russians do repairs themselves
Analysts at Avito Services found out what is more important for Russians when carrying out repair work — meeting the budget or getting high-quality repairs. More than half (55%) of those who are ready to start renovations this year or have not yet decided, balance is important — they expect to receive high-quality renovations and not go over budget. For 37% of respondents, quality is a priority. And only 8% of respondents noted that money is of paramount importance to them — their task is to meet a certain amount.
Every fifth respondent (19%) plans to turn to professionals for help. A third of respondents (35%) plan to carry out one part of the repair work themselves, and entrust the other to specialists.
Muscovites are more likely than others to hire construction crews
Women are more likely than men to delegate repairs to professionals — 21% versus 16%, respectively. Zoomers also vote for the option of hiring a construction crew — every fifth Russian aged 18 to 24 years (22%) is not ready to renovate an apartment on their own. More often than others, Muscovites prefer to turn to craftsmen — a third of the capital’s residents (28%) entrust repair work to teams.
A third of respondents (31%) allocate most of the budget for the purchase of building materials and furniture, and allocate up to 25% of the budget for repairs to pay for the work of specialists. Half of the respondents plan to pay craftsmen from 26% to 50% of the budget. And only 4% of Russians agree to spend more than 75% of the allocated budget on the work of repairmen. Young people aged 18 to 24 are willing to pay the most to pay for the services of a repair team. A third of them agree to allocate over 50%, and another 8% — 75% of the budget.
A third of Russians trust bathroom and bathroom renovations only to professionals
More than a third of Russians (37%) are going to entrust cosmetic repairs to craftsmen. Another 34% of respondents believe that bathroom and toilet renovations should be carried out by professionals. A third of respondents (31%) plan to pay professionals to install doors and do all plumbing work, another 29% are not ready to renovate the kitchen themselves, and 24% plan to hire a construction crew to install or replace floors.
Demand for interior designers in Russia increased by 55%
Avito Services analysts record an increase in demand for the services of repair teams — in winter it increased by 29% year-on-year.
The interest of Russians in the installation of ventilation systems (+116%), tiling works (+63%), installation of doors (+58%), glazing of balconies (+31%), wallpapering and painting work (+39%), and the demand for interior design services also increased (+55%).
