Statistics: On average, Russians received their last raise or salary increase about 1.5 years ago

Avito Rabota experts surveyed more than 7,000 working Russians to find out how long ago they received their last promotion or salary increase. The survey showed that the respondents’ last career advancement or salary increase occurred on average about 1.5 years ago.

22% of respondents noted that they had advanced in their career or received a salary increase less than six months ago, and 26% said that this happened within the last year. 17% of Russians last received a raise 1-2 years ago, 6% — 3-4 years ago, and the same number — more than 5 years ago. 2% of respondents received their last raise or promotion 4-5 years ago. On average, the most recent raises or promotions were received by specialists from IT and telecom (about 1.26 years ago), production and raw materials, as well as representatives of the fitness industry and beauty salons (about 1.33 years and 1.35 years ago, respectively).— the service’s press service notes.

41% of working Russians noted that they are completely or rather satisfied with their income. Among them, on average, there are more young people aged 18-24 (52%) and 24-34 (45%), as well as residents of Moscow (48%) and cities with a population of over a million (47%).

At the same time, Russians who would like to increase their salary level are most often ready to undergo training or advanced training courses in order to earn more (33%) — this answer is most typical of mid-level specialists (36%). Respondents also reported that in order to increase their salary they are ready to take on additional tasks and responsibilities (24%) — this option was noted by deputy directors (36%), department heads (35%) and senior specialists (31%). The third most popular option is to change position or department within the company for career growth. 23% of Russians are ready to do this — most often this option was noted by senior specialists (34%), department heads (28%) and mid-level specialists (25%).

To increase their income, respondents also noted the possibility of taking on overtime work (19%), moving to another city or country for the sake of a career (17%), coming up with a way to help increase income or reduce the company’s expenses (15%), taking on more responsibility and independently implementing a large project (10%), and performing more managerial functions in communicating within a team and training new employees (9%).
