Statistics: only 2% of Russians are ready to take out a market mortgage

The majority of Russians do not plan to use a mortgage to buy a home, it turned out as a result of a survey conducted by the financial marketplace Compare. Analysts found that 78% of respondents prefer to save money to buy a home and are not ready to use borrowed funds.
Only 2% of survey participants are ready to take out a home loan at a market rate. Another 6% of respondents are considering a preferential mortgage.
73% of respondents keep savings in savings accounts and deposits, 16% prefer cash, 7% use gold and precious metals, 4% use investment funds.
The survey involved 1,200 respondents over 18 years of age from all regions of the country.
Almost 20% of borrowers expect to close their mortgage in three years, SberInsurance analysts previously found out. Over the year, the share of those who plan to repay a housing loan for more than five years decreased by 40.9% p.p., to 36.1%. On average, people are willing to spend 6.1 million rubles on housing.
