Street theater from Sevastopol is one of the participants in the first race of “Tavrida.ART” in Moscow

The first educational race “Tavrida.ART — Only in Russia” of the Tavrida art cluster was held in Moscow as part of the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”. 344 guests from 54 regions of Russia and Uzbekistan took part in the race. Participants from the art schools of street art, choreography, puppet theater, street theater and contemporary music demonstrated their results in the final show. One of the brightest representatives of the race was the artist, head of the troupe of the street theater “Soft Sign” from Sevastopol, Evgeniy Pavlov.

For the first time in the 10 years of the art cluster’s existence, the Tavrida educational race was held outside of Crimea — in Moscow. A special feature of the arrival is open formats for visitors to the Russia exhibition. From June 2 to 8, performances from Russian street theaters took place: “Trickster”, “Plasticine Rain”, “Sketches in Space”, “Petrovsky Village Theater” and other groups, open lectures were held on street art and the music industry, dance battle, musical apartment, meeting and discussion with young performers. An open flash mob took place in honor of the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin and a circus procession “The Art of the Circus”.

One of the brightest representatives of the race was Evgeny Pavlov, an artist and head of the troupe of the first street theater in Crimea, “Soft Sign” from Sevastopol:

This is a strong school, especially in our niche, and one of the few opportunities to meet colleagues in one place to exchange experiences. Since we are the only street theater in Crimea, we have no one to exchange knowledge and skills with, and street theaters on the mainland have existed for more than 30 years. We adopt their accumulated experience at educational races thanks to Tavrida. After each race, we always create something new in the theater, based on the knowledge we have received. In addition to the performances themselves, we learn how to create props and scenery. Such formats help you get to know yourself, educate and inspire.

Young artists and directors of the street theater art school exchanged experiences and discussed the nuances of professional activities in the following areas: equipping a street stage, working with a rider, working with a mask and props, protecting copyrights, submitting applications and participating in street festivals. In addition, art school participants could receive a certificate of advanced training from the Theater School named after. B. Shchukina. They also presented their ideas at the pitching of the Great Children’s Festival.

Already on June 11, “Tavrida” will open the second educational race of the season — “Race named after Gagarin”. It will include art schools “Space and Art”, the fashion industry, graphic design, marketing and advertising, and contemporary art.
