The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a storm warning about dangerous meteorological phenomena in Crimea on and 15 October. Strengthening of the northwest wind is expected.
According to the Crimean Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, due to the passage of an active cold frontal section 10 in October and at night 21 October in Crimea rains are expected, sometimes heavy; strengthening of the northwest wind 15- m/s, in the southern, eastern regions and in mountains 30-30 m/s. The air temperature will drop by 8- degrees.
In these conditions, there is a high probability of emergency situations associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of traffic accidents, violations of transport communication, difficulties in the movement of vehicles on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes. Flooding of territories is possible , — the message of the Ministry of Emergency Situations says.
It is emphasized that such weather can lead to accidents in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait. The presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and bank protection structures is life-threatening.
