Vernadsky, at the monument to teachers and students who died during the Great Patriotic War, the opening of the Republican patriotic action “Victory Landing” took place as part of the All-Russian patriotic action “Let’s Bow to the Great Those Years”.
“Victory Landing” is a volunteer labor landing force of students and schoolchildren, whose efforts are used to clean and improve the territories of monuments to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. This year the action was supposed to start on March 23, but due to the terrible tragedy that occurred on March 22 at Crocus City Hall in the Moscow region, we postponed the start of the action to March 25. Together with the entire country, we honor the memory of the victims and today we light lamps in memory of them. Student brigade members understand how important it is to be united and support each other now. Only together we will overcome any difficulties, just as for several years, conducting the Victory Landing in Crimea, we are making our contribution to preserving the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.— Vladimir Kaidansky, commander of the Crimean regional branch of the Russian Student Detachments, spoke to the participants of the action.
The Victory Landing has been held annually since 2019 on the initiative of the headquarters of student detachments of the Republic of Crimea with the support of the State Committee for Youth Policy of the Republic of Crimea, the city administration of Simferopol, the Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky, Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University named after Fevzi Yakubov, the youth all-Russian public organization “Russian Student Teams”.
The campaign is aimed not only at carrying out volunteer activities to clean and improve the monuments of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, but also at providing assistance to elderly people, home front workers, children and WWII veterans, holding open lessons about the events of the Second World War in schools, in particular , about the events of the Crimean offensive operation of 1944 and the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders, as well as to popularize volunteerism and labor activity among school and student youth.
As part of the action, in 2024, 24 student and school labor teams, uniting 630 volunteers, will work in 20 municipalities of the Republic of Crimea to clean and improve monuments, memorials, and mass graves of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Today we are presenting work vouchers to the command staff of the Victory Landing detachments. Each of you can join the great history, which was written by millions of lives of Soviet soldiers, partisans, underground fighters, and home front workers. Their memory should be eternal and passed on from generation to generation. This is why we work and conduct our Victory Landing— said Ekaterina Denesyuk, head of patriotic work at the headquarters of student detachments in the Republic of Crimea.
