Students of Sevastopol are helped to prepare for a job search

The Center for Employment of the Population hosted a training «Communication skills and an interview with the employer.» The event was attended by senior psychology students of the Sevastopol State University and the Sevastopol Institute of Economics and Humanities, a branch of the Crimean Federal University named after V. I. Vernadsky. During the lesson, students got acquainted with the methods of self-presentation when meeting with employers, received skills and tools for finding a job. The participants underwent corrective exercises to relieve anxiety and fears, psychological testing, elements of auto-training, applied art therapy methods.

The training program was developed and prepared by our specialists. Previously, it was held for unemployed citizens in order to identify effective methods that will be used to promote the employment of Sevastopol graduates. Now we plan to conduct such trainings on a regular basis. In the course of classes, the guys receive useful skills of confident behavior when applying for a job, as well as psycho-emotional support, which is important in this matter , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the Employment Center Svetlana Rendak.

Future psychologists also got acquainted with the new development of the Center for Employment of the Population — this is the workbook «Job Search: Components of Success», which will help them independently work out the acquired skills of emotional self-regulation, communication skills. It includes psychological tests, job search tips, resume writing, interview behavior, adapting to a new job, and expert advice.

At the end of the meeting, students filled out feedback forms, in which they expressed their suggestions and wishes for conducting similar trainings as part of the work of career centers in educational institutions of the city. The next course of the three-day training is scheduled for November.
