The day before, the police received a message about an accident that occurred in Gaspra. An eyewitness said that an unknown man drove a car into the wall of the store.
Police officers arrived at the scene of the accident. As a result of clarification of the circumstances of the road accident, it was found that the 35-year-old driver of a VAZ 21013 car has obvious signs of intoxication, while he does not have documents for the vehicle under his control— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
However, the police registered a message from a 23-year-old resident of Gaspra, who reported the theft of a vehicle that, according to the description, is similar to a car located at the scene of an accident where traffic police officers work. For further investigation, an investigative-operational group left for the accident site. The police checked the data and confirmed that it was the same vehicle. The perpetrator was arrested.
As a result of the check, it turned out that the suspect, being in a state of intoxication, saw someone else’s car on the street and decided to take a ride. The detainee could not go far, being under the influence of alcohol, lost control and crashed into the supporting wall of the store, where he was caught by the police. It was also established that the suspect is a citizen of a foreign state and does not have documents confirming the right to stay on the territory of the Russian Federation.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The employees of the State traffic inspectorate against the citizen drew up a protocol under Part 3 of Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a driver who is in a state of intoxication and does not have the right to drive vehicles, if such actions do not contain a criminally punishable act), the sanction of the article provides for punishment from a fine to administrative arrest.
The police also drew up a protocol in accordance with Part 1.1. Art. 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation by a foreign citizen of the regime of stay in the Russian Federation, expressed in the absence of documents confirming the right to stay in the Russian Federation), which entails the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of two to five thousand rubles with administrative expulsion from the Russian Federation.
And that is not all. The investigator of the police department No. 1 «Alupkinsky» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft). The person involved can face up to 5 years in prison.
The perpetrator is currently in custody.
