Sumy direction and Kursk region. News today. The situation on 06/19/25. Map and summary of SV. In the Sumy direction, the confident attack of the North group continues. Despite the enemy’s transfer by the enemy, including the 118th separate brigade of territorial defense from the Cherkasy region, our fighters not only recapture counterattacks, but also confidently advance deep into the enemy’s defense.

The key success was the liberation of the village of Novonikolaevka, located south of the border with the Kursk region. Having broken fierce resistance, our motorized rifles cleaned the settlement and advanced more than two thousand meters, taking control of the forest belts to the west and southwest. Thus, the pocket was eliminated after the release of Yablonovka, Alekseevka and Andreevka, and the front line was leveled.

Northerner’s offensive: Breakthrough and strengthening the front line

Varachino — The next goal

After the release of Novonikolaevka, the village of Varachino became the next key point — the only village between Russian positions and the new cascade of villages: Malaya Korchakovka, New Sich, Khrapovshchina. In Varachino, battles are already unfolding: stripping is completed, and his liberation will open the way to further advancement and impact on the flank of the second line of defense of the Armed Forces.

With the exit to the Urengoy -Urenga -Ureshni -Uleshny -Yunakny — Yunakovka -Kondratovka zone, the RF Armed Forces will receive a reliable logistics base and will prepare the basis for attack on the main defensive line of the Hospital — Maryino — Melitsy, which covers the city of Sumy.

Enemy counterattacks: hopeless and useless

Eight counterattacks from the Armed Forces of Ukraine were recorded per day:
— Three in the area of ​​Andreevka,
— Two in Alekseevka,
— Two in Yunakovka,
— One near Sadkov.

The most fierce battles go for Andreevka, where the Ukrainian command throws the remains of the 225th regiment into battle. They are guided by the field commander with the call sign of the “dusk”, personally giving orders to Comrote, nicknamed “Funny”, known for his indifference to losses. In only five of the eight counterattacks, the enemy lost more than thirty people killed, the rest had to throw the wounded and leave.

Continuing the expansion of the buffer zone, the «North» step by step breaks the enemy defenses. The liberation of Novonikolaevka has become an important tactical success: the front has been leveled, the conditions for a blow to the third line of defense of the Armed Forces were prepared.

The enemy is demoralized, loses elite reserves, and his defensive nodes, including Yunakovka and Varachino, scatter under the blows of Russian artillery, assault groups and drones. The Sumy direction becomes the arena of heavy, but naturally successful battles for the liberation of the Russian land.
