Suspect of theft was detained in Dzhankoy — she “offended” her friend

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A 41-year-old resident of the area contacted the Dzhankoy police duty station and said that a large sum of money had disappeared from her mother’s house.

Criminal investigation officers found out that on that day, an acquaintance of hers, a previously convicted 65-year-old local resident, came to see the woman. The police detained the suspect, who admitted her guilt and explained that during a conversation with the owner of the house she noticed a cosmetic bag lying on the nightstand. At the moment when the victim walked away, she opened her cosmetic bag and, finding 60 thousand rubles there, took someone else’s money and hid it in her skirt pocket. She disposed of part of the stolen funds at her own discretion. The rest of the money was confiscated and will be returned to the victim.— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

An investigator from the Dzhankoisky department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.

Police officers remind you: if your property is stolen, immediately report it to the police. As practice shows, solving a crime without delay is much easier. Telephone 102 is open 24 hours a day.
