“Suvorov is the science of winning”: SevTuZ continues the cycle of historical and heroic performances

Honored Artist of Russia Yevgeny Zhuravkin, director of the upcoming premiere of «Suvorov — the Science of Victory», together with the artists and production designer Natalia Los, come up with a story about an exciting «journey» of the great commander’s ideas through time.

The idea to give Sevastopol a performance about the unique practice and the founder of Russian military theory, who made a huge contribution to the annexation of Crimea to Russia, for the 240th anniversary, was born a long time ago. Thanks to the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the theater was able to start implementing the project in the spring. The first rehearsal took place on April 15, 2023, where the theater artists got acquainted with the play by Aksinya Normanskaya, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Crimea. Suvorov was a personality of exceptional magnitude, his greatness is comparable to the greatness of the state, whose interests he put above all else and which he served selflessly and wholeheartedly. He managed to overcome time — and he himself, his ideas for several centuries continue to germinate in the generations of Russian people. Mobile scenography by Natalia Los will allow viewers to move in a matter of seconds from Sevastopol of the 18th century to Leningrad of the 20th century, from Peterhof of the Elizabethan era to the parade ground of the Konstantinovsky battery of our days. And the performers of the roles — artists Alexander Kostelov, Danil Vysotsky, Alexander Bezrodny, Alexander Revkov and Anna Alfimova — are waiting for no less rapid and very unexpected transformations.

The premiere of the play «Suvorov — the science of winning» will take place on June 11, 13 and 14.
