Swimming in a storm (especially on a stand-up board) is not worth it. Salvation in Feodosia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This morning (at 8:52 a.m.) the Crisis Management Center received a message that in Feodosia, two people are being carried out to sea on a SUP board by the current. The help of lifeguards is required.
The Crisis Management Center organized an immediate response of a part of the Diving and Rescue Specialized Squad and specialists of the GIMS Center of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Crimea. The victims were found by rescuers and transported ashore. They didn’t need medical attention.— reported in the emergency departmentse.
A preventive conversation was held with the rescued vacationers. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds: swimming in a storm is life-threatening. By the way, today there is a storm on the entire Crimean coast.
It is important to remember that a SUP board is technically similar to a surfboard. An important difference is that you need to swim while standing on it and control the process with the help of an oar. Sup is suitable for people for whom surfing is too technical from a technical point of view, or for those who prefer to ride on the water at a calm pace. In a storm, a stand-up board is dangerous (“professionals” also apply).
