CrimeaPRESS reports:
Previously they said, they note Arguments and Factsthat the increase in tariffs for housing and communal services cannot be higher than the level of annual inflation. Now it is around 7%. So why will tariffs increase by 10%? Or was the norm cancelled?
Tariffs for utility services will be indexed from July 1, 2024 on average across Russia by 9.8%. At the same time, the average index for the subjects will vary depending on the region.
This is due both to differences in the structure of payments in each municipality and to the needs for financing housing and communal services infrastructuresays Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artyom Kiryanov.
As for comparison with inflation, Kiryanov recalls:
Tariffs were frozen for a year and a half. Yes, at the moment this increase is higher than inflation, but we must take into account this accumulated gap. The rise in price is an unpleasant moment, but inevitable. The costs of service providers have increased, increasing tariffs will avoid their bankruptcy and prevent an increase in the number of accidents. After all, the funds raised will also help solve the problems of network modernization.
