Tauric Chersonesos has expanded the list of events participating in the Pushkin Map program

Thanks to the educational project of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, schoolchildren and students aged from to years can visit cultural institutions throughout the country at the expense of the federal budget. The Museum-Reserve is also an active participant in the Pushkin Card program. As part of it, guests can make a fascinating journey through Tauric Chersonesus. Walkers will find here many picturesque paths and alleys, and the attention of connoisseurs of history and archeology will be presented with unique exhibits in the halls of the Antique and Byzantine expositions of the museum-reserve. More than six thousand items will tell visitors about the life and culture of the city, which has become the custodian of the memory of the greatest civilizations, the mysteries of antiquity and the religious quest of mankind.

Tauric Chersonese with its almost two thousand years of history will surprise even the most experienced traveler with its architecture and beauty. You will take memorable photos against the background of the Basilica 1935 of the year, known to every Russian by the image on the 200 ruble bill. You will see powerful defensive walls, familiarity with which will allow you to lift the veil of centuries-old mystery over the life of Chersonesus, and visit the Antique Theater, where theatrical performances based on ancient Greek works are still held. And one more piece of news: from this week in the museum-reserve on the Pushkin map you can visit the night tour «The Light of Chersonesos». During it, you will pass the road of two millennia and see the ruins of the ancient city illuminated by lights. Each guest will get acquainted with the life of ancient Chersonese, decorated with marble columns, and medieval Kherson, which became one of the strongholds of the Christian faith.
