Tauride Chersonesus: how Christmas was celebrated in the museum-reserve
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Folk festivities, fairs, carols, master classes and competitions… The Christmas holiday in Tauride Chersonese was a great success! Hundreds of Sevastopol residents and guests of the hero city joined today the event organized by the museum-reserve together with the My History Foundation, the Crimean Metropolis and the Sevastopol Deanery.
From the very morning, folk festivities began in the Byzantine courtyard of Chersonesus. Both children and adults inspiredly created Christmas toys or painted gingerbread cookies, and craftsmen from the Sevastopol Chamber of Crafts presented their unique products at a themed fair. Artists of the ensembles “Rus” and “Volga Guslars” performed for the guests, creating the atmosphere of a real holiday. Children and older children took part in a caroling competition, where the most artistic ones won a prize — a chocolate toy, and later the children acted out a nativity scene — a Nativity scene. The bright photo zones, where the whole family could take a photo, and the work of the field kitchen, which was enjoyed by visitors to the museum-reserve, added special warmth to the event.
We are sure that the guests of today’s holiday received a charge of positive emotions for the year ahead, filled their hearts with Christmas warmth and had a great time. Thanks to everyone who took part in our event, and see you again in Tauride Chersonese! — reported the press service of the museum-reserve.
