«Tavrida.ART» and the Ministry of Culture of Russia opened art objects as part of the project «Collection of Russian Museums»

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The “Tavrida” art cluster, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, established the “Collection of Russian Museums” project, according to which the art cluster will install objects created in collaboration with the largest domestic museums. On October 19, as part of the Green Festival, the first art objects were opened in collaboration with the State Tretyakov Gallery.

“Tavrida” is a unique place where talented youth from all over the country can realize their creative potential. The Ministry of Culture of Russia, together with the art cluster, is presenting the project “Collections of Russian Museums”, which will allow classical art to go beyond the exhibition halls and introduce guests of the art park closer to our rich cultural heritage. Today we present the first installations created by young artists in partnership with the Tretyakov Gallery, and next year our flagship Museum of Architecture will join the project. Shchusev and the Pushkin Museum named after. Pushkinsaid the director of the Department of Museums and Support of Circus Arts of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Elena Kharlamova.

On October 19, during the Green Festival, two new installations were added to the Tavrida art park: “Dedication to Malevich” and “Malevich’s Architect”. Both art objects are based on the work of the famous Russian avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich and are dedicated to the 145th anniversary of his birth.

The Tretyakov Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in a joint project with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Tavrida art cluster — “Collections of Russian Museums”. Victor Polyakov and Dmitry Aske created art objects inspired by the artistic and philosophical concepts of the work of Kazemir Malevich, whose 145th anniversary was celebrated this year. The project is a continuation of the fruitful cooperation with Tavrida, which began last year. Such initiatives allow us to solve the gallery’s priority tasks of popularizing cultural heritage and supporting contemporary art, — said the director of the Tretyakov Gallery Elena Pronicheva.

The art object “Dedication to Malevich” by artist Dmitry Aske was created based on the painting “Woman with a Rake”, which was painted in 1915. It represents the silhouette of a peasant woman, filled with non-objective geometrized elements, giving the figure an abstract character that cannot be clearly deciphered.

I, like many artists, was influenced by the art of Malevich, so I am glad that I was invited to participate in this project. I would like to thank all the organizers and people who participated in the creation and installation of the sculpture, notes Dmitry Aske.

The art object “Malevich’s Architect” was designed by contemporary artist Viktor Polyakov in the image of a Suprematist architectural model made in 1927. The Tretyakov Gallery houses one of Malevich’s vertical architectons. During the period of their creation, Kazimir Malevich did not paint, but together with his students he made architectural models of buildings and monuments from wood and plaster, not intended for practical purposes.

The shape of the object is externally similar to the model of Kazimir Malevich. Thanks to the use of multiple mirror surfaces and integrated lighting elements, the legacy of the great avant-garde artist is organically reinterpreted, said artist, teacher at the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences Viktor Polyakov.

Both art objects were created and installed within the framework of the “Collection of Russian Museums” project in partnership with the State Tretyakov Gallery. According to the project, objects created in collaboration with the largest domestic museums will appear in the art cluster. The corresponding agreement was signed at the Festival of Young Multinational Art “Tavrida.ART” with the Director of the Department of Museums and External Relations of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Elena Kharlamova. The first art objects installed on October 19 opened a collection that will be replenished annually with new installations throughout the Inspiration Embankment.
