«Tavrida.ART» for the first time will hold a Street Art Festival on the Day of Sudak

On September 9, 10 and 16, Tavrida.ART (a project of Rosmolodezh) organizes a Street Art Festival as part of the celebration of the Day of the City of Sudak. This is a gift for Sudak residents from the art cluster and the first event of its kind in Crimea.

Painting Sudak with bright colors and creating a festive mood among its residents is the main task of the Street Art Festival, organized by Tavrida.ART. Starting September 9, invited world-class artists will paint the facades of houses on the main street of Sudak in real time. This is a unique opportunity for residents and guests of the city to see live how murals are created. Street artists will present the final results in a week — on September 16th. The five images they make will be given to the city as a gift and will delight the eyes of Sudak residents for a long time, and will also become a new attraction for tourists.

Residents of «Tavrida.ART» will also leave a memorable mark on the architecture of the city, having also painted several free walls on the streets of the city. In their work, young artists will include elements that reflect the cultural code of our country. But what the residents of the art cluster want to tell Sudak residents will be a surprise for local residents, which they will be able to reveal only on City Day.

As part of the City Day, Tavrida.ART invited 13 street theaters from different Russian cities to Sudak. A large cultural program for residents and guests of the city is planned for all holidays. Street theaters from Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Voronezh and Samara will show more than 20 performances and shows at various venues in the city, as well as on the Rocket and Akademichesky embankments and beaches, for three days.

On Saturday, September 9, the central streets and the city garden will be filled with fairy-tale characters in fantastic costumes, they will entertain the audience with tricks on stilts, dances, and humorous miniatures. Spectators will be able to become part of the performances, interact with artists, create a common holiday together. Street performances will also take place in schools, the House of Culture, on the embankment and one of the squares of the city.

On the sites of the art cluster and the beaches «Academic» and «Rocket» all Sunday, September 10, music will sound, theaters will introduce viewers to various circus genres, arrange bright performances with magical heroes based on fairy tales, show extreme acrobatic numbers, a fencing show, and even stage puppet show — opera.

Some of the theaters have already taken part in the Tavrida.ART Young Art Festival, which took place in Kapsel Bay on 17–21 August. Then the performances of circus artists, clowns, mimes, dancers could be seen only by the audience of the Festival. They have returned and will now create a festive mood for all residents of Sudak and guests of the city. Thus, the independent theater from Moscow «Trickster» will again show the play «Ruslan and Lyudmila» based on the work of A. S. Pushkin, where the path of Ruslan as a superhero, with his battles, deeds, victories and defeats, will appear in a new, brighter and more understandable for young spectators.

To acquaint citizens with street art, to show its benefits is another task of the festival. To do this, on the final day, September 16, Tavrida.ART will hold lectures and master classes, where invited experts will tell everyone about street art. Speakers will be experts in the field of street art: architects, photographers, artists, researchers. And so that residents and guests of the city can realize their creative ideas or just spend the City Day in an interesting and useful way, the art cluster organizes graffiti workshops for children and adults. Finished paintings will be exhibited in the city. One of the master classes will be held for everyone in the city garden, the second is planned for students of secondary school No. 4, over which the art cluster has taken creative patronage.

Also on September 16, residents of the Tavrida.ART art cluster will perform their songs for residents on the Sudak embankment. Registration for the event.
